Our fabulous RS had a scary scary sleepover for our enrichment activity this October. It was a night of fantabulously thrilling fun :)

Birthday Fun in Florida

One of the coolest places in Gainesville is Satchel's Pizza....a totally organic pizza place that also has a nostalgic quirkiness that can't be described, only experienced. It was decided that this was the place to celebrate my 29th birthday :) So Dawn, Shannon and I spent an evening at Satchels....and ate pizza inside a van *smile*

Pancakes, floats and Gators, oh my!!

The University of Florida Homecoming weekend was October 24th-25th and here in Gainesville, FL, that means the whole town comes together to celebrate Gator pride! This was my first year to join in the festivities, which included blue and orange pancakes at the Institute building and then moving on to the Homecoming parade, where the Gainesville YSA's had built a float to show our Gator pride :) GO GATORS!!

FLORIDA :)

I finally made the move and have relocated to sunny Gainesville, Florida! I am currently on the job hunt and have made myself very cozy in my new place :) I love the area and feel right at home. Here are some pics of my new home....

The Job Search

While I have thoroughly enjoyed my wonderful year as an 8th grade language arts teacher, I am looking to progress forward and see where my wings can take me. Last summer I had applied for some writing/editorial/research positions in the Maryland/DC area, as well as parts of Florida - north east FL, Orlando and above. The areas of interest have remained the same, as well as the search criteria. Teaching, of course, is always an option too :-) Just wanted to send out this info in the hopes that I can get some information from anyone who has some ideas or may know of any positions. I am ready to get out of NC, so try to keep the options outside of my great home state ;-) Hope everyone is enjoying the spring!!

Whomever coined the phrase "time flies while you're having fun" should add "and while you are working your butt off!". I realized I have been very slack in keeping this up-to-date, but I believe I did put a disclaimer in my initial post that this was a possibility. And so the prophesy stands true......
Now for the update: I am still teaching (yes, I have endured lol)! I am also coaching again for the boys, which is really awesome. I thought I would enjoy coaching girls more, but it ends up I am leaning towards my boys. They are just an awesome group and keep me laughing. The year is almost over and we are heading into our last 9 weeks of the school year. This year has been full of surprises and I look forward to what the rest of the year brings. It always amazes me what happens when you least expect it. Happy St. Paddy's Day!!!!
